The WAVE....finally a Special Robotic Vacuum for only the Largest Pools!
The WAVE....finally a Special Robotic Vacuum for only the Largest Pools!
Several months ago, we introduced major improvements to the CES Stinger 11R and 21R vacuums, manufactured by Maytronics. Now Maytronics and CES are proud to announce an ALL-NEW industrial-grade vacuum designed specifically for ONLY the largest Competitive and Water Park Pools....called the “Wave”.
The Wave is not a larger version of the existing 11R and 21R models...it is all new from the ground up. The Maytronics engineers have worked for several years to provide a whole new generation of features and benefits....
Robustness: The Wave is designed for high reliability and steady performance. Every facet of the Wave system has been specifically designed to handle the rigors of daily vacuuming on a pool up to 180 feet in length. The new heavy-duty body and drive belt design, along with the new “spur gear” allows continuous operation with only annual scheduled service. Unlike some of the lesser units on the market, the Wave does not rely on a skinny drive belts, multiple electrical connections, etc.
Active Brushing: A Maytronics specialty. Helps to remove algae and bacteria for better hygiene. This system uses rotating brushes specially designed to brush, scrub and remove dirt from the pool floor, slopes, edges and corners. The brushes are designed to last for years, and pick up dirt from even the most “pristine-looking” pool.
More Power: The Wave comes with extra suction power for quicker and more thorough cleaning. The suction rate is a whopping 10,560 gallons per hour. This is 25% greater than the Stinger 21R, which is considered one of the top performers in the industry.
Filtration: One huge difference between the wave and other vacuums in the industry, is the greatly improved filter bag system. First of all, the bags are much larger than any single Stinger vacuum in the past, and there are two bags instead of one. This greatly improves the capacity. More importantly, access to remove and replace the bags is from the TOP of the vacuum. Most vacuums have cleaning ports that are from the bottom or the rear of the vacuum. Sometimes the bottom-loading bags will empty out as you are trying to remove the vacuum from the pool (makes for a bad day). There are also three types of filter bags: Coarse, Disposable, and Permanent.
MMI (Maytronics Machine Interface): This unit is mounted on the caddy cart and is the heart of the control system. It is an Interactive Digital Control Panel for operating and failure diagnosis (built in Analyzer). This interactive state-of-the-art MMI control panel gives you full control of: cycle time, total operation delay and scanning pattern. It also gives you diagnosis of technical function and parameters. The MMI even has a thumb drive port that allows CES (and you) to download all alarms, technical data, and even allows us to program any software improvements while the vacuum sits on the pool deck.
Scanning Method: Navigation Systematic Scanning - efficient and optimal pool coverage. This is probably the most incredible (and under-appreciated) feature of the new Wave unit. The on-board digital navigation system precisely vacuums according to an organized grid pattern (see illustration above). This allows the Wave to completely vacuum a full 50-meter pool in 5 hours.
Versatility: The Wave will learn your pool dimensions in the first few minutes of operation and will provide pinpoint cleaning on up to FOUR different pools on your property. Merely put the vacuum in the specific pool, identify which pool it is in on the MMI, and away it goes.....
A Wave customer tells it all: Dave Smith, Aquatic Manager from Indian River County Parks graciously agreed to serve as a “Field Test” site for the Wave. Dave has been using the Wave on the County’s active 50-meter (82’ x 164’) pool for many months. Dave said that he found a “big difference” between the cleaning ability of the Wave over his Stinger 21R. But quickly stated that he felt the Stinger was one the best vacuums in the industry, which is why they owned it.
Dave also pointed out that the unit consistently cleaned his 50-meter pool in 5 hours - without the need for any spot vacuuming (with the Waterproof Remote system). He said that “we put the Wave in at night, and pulled it out in the morning....it did it all by itself, perfect!”
Dave did have one complaint: Originally the unit was configured to clean the entire pool “at once” when first put in the water, while Dave wanted to be able to keep one part of the pool open to bathers.....so Dave recommended an upgrade in programming. The Maytronics engineers agreed, and the new Stinger allows you to select “left to right” or “right to left” cleaning options. This means that it will clean the left-hand side of the pool first, then the right, or visa-versa. We upgraded Dave’s vacuum using a thumb drive on the MMI port, and now they have this new feature. Thanks for the feedback, Dave.
Free Demo: As some are quick to point out, you can say what you want, but seeing is believing. So, instead of reading and wondering about if the Wave is for you....contact CES and we will schedule a free on-site demonstration of the Wave vacuum. We also will gladly put together a payback analysis, based on your information, that shows if this system can potentially save you any time or money.
Finally, the Wave is available under CES leasing program, so you can let the Wave “pay its own way” from savings in Labor and Maintenance.
Please contact your CES rep for more information on the Wave vacuum system, or to schedule a free demo.

Welcome to the WAVE. The revolutionary new vacuum made specifically for only the largest commercial pool. Filled with great features, one of the greatest is the impeccable vacuuming pattern shown in the illustration below.
The top loading filter bag system is an operators dream. The simple twist off mechanism allows you easy access to remove and clean filters with a minimum of time and effort.
The Wave MMI system does it all. You can configure the operation, troubleshoot any problems, upload new software, and more.
